CAPE TOWN (31 July 2014) – After roughly 800 club competitions nationwide, the Sanlam Cancer Challenge heads into its Regional Finals in August to determine the select group of golfers who will qualify for the National Finals.
The 100 golfers who qualify through their Regional Finals in their respective A, B and C Divisions will contest the National Finals on both the golf courses of the Gary Player Country Club and Lost City Golf Course from 20-21 October.
“From a golfing perspective, it’s every amateur’s dream to play two of the country’s top courses at Sun City,” said Sanlam sponsorship Manager Gary van Loggerenberg.
“We’ve had yet another amazing response to our club competitions. We are grateful for every bit of support we have received from all of the clubs, and the spirit of generosity shown by even the smallest clubs has been amazing.
“The Sanlam Cancer Challenge is about creating cancer ambassadors through golf, and to have so many people support our cause is humbling. This is a tournament that enables club golfers anywhere in the country to do something positive and make a real impact through the game they love.”
Last year the Sanlam Cancer Challenge raised R3 307 99.00 for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA).
