We are excited to announce the LAUNCH of the Sanlam Cancer Challenge 2016 Club Competitions

Thank you for helping us raise over 3,5 million rand for CANSA in 2015!

We are ready to do it again and encourage all Clubs to go towww.sanlamcancerchallenge.co.za to register for this years Sanlam Cancer Challenge.

Important Dates:

The Final will be earlier this year due to NGC dates moving and thus all our dates have been adjusted accordingly.

Registration of Club Competitions:
Opens 1 February 2016 and closes 31 March 2016

Club Competitions:
To be played from 1 March 2016 to 17July 2016

Regional Finals:
To be played from 18 July 2016 to 31 August 2016

Entries for Finals close:
Friday 9 September 2016

Final:
10 and 11 October 2016

Farewell to Lol Jones

STELLENBOSCH, 21 November 2015 - Womens Golf South Africa expresses its heartfelt condolences to Bob and friends of former Boland Ladies Golf president Lol Jones, who passed away on Friday 20 November.

“Lol fought a long and brave battle against cancer and we were deeply saddened to learn of her passing,” said Womens Golf South Africa president, Karen Olivant.

“We were all very happy that she could spend some time with us at the Sanlam Cancer Challenge National Final held recently at Sun City.

“Lol gave so much of herself to the game. She not only served the president of Boland Ladies Golf until November last year, but gave countless hours to the South African Disabled Golf Association.

“Her passion for the game was undeniable and her contribution was immeasurable. Her continuous efforts to grow and develop the women’s game in Boland will be her lasting legacy.

A Remembrance Service for Lol will be held at 15h30 on Wednesday, 25 November at Stellenbosch Golf Club.

The Big Easy was awarded the honor at the 2015 World Golf Awards, part of the prestigious World Travel Awards. He was a nominee in a strong category of other high=profile designers that included Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, Gary Player and Sir Nick Faldo.

The award completes impressive back-to-back wins for Ernie and the Ernie Els Design team after The Els Club Teluk Datai took the prize of World's Best New Golf Course at the 2014 World Golf Awards.

Genesis Panel Beaters Corporate Golf Day on the 28th of August at Strand Golf Course.

We are very proud to announce that Genesis Panel Beaters will be hosting our very first Corporate Golf Day on the 28th of August at Strand Golf Course.

We would love for you to join us for the event to hit the green for a good cause!

The aim of the day is to create awareness for the Children at Goeie Hope and for the team at Australian Shepherd South African Rescue Organisation

The 4-ball is R1700 which allows for 4 people to partake in the competition and includes a light supper.

HOLE SPONSOR
The hole sponsor is R2000 which allows you and your company to advertise on an allocated hole on the golf course.

We have already arranged some exciting prizes to be won at the prize giving that will be followed by an auction of some more exciting goodies.

If you would like to sponsor a prize or an item to be auctioned off you are more than welcome to do so.

PGA Championship Preview: Spieth, Whistling Straits, Pete Dye and Tiger

The 2015 PGA Championship heads to Whistling Straits, where Jordan Spieth is seeking to become the 3rd player ever to win three major championships in the same year. He will take on Phil Mickelson, Tiger Woods, and the rest of the hungry field at the Pete Dye-designed Whistling Straits course along Lake Michigan for the right to hoist the Wanamaker Trophy.
